The hallmark of any good tycoon or theme park builder is the management system and its depth. How layered and complex is it, how does the UI and UX play out and what features are there that separate the game in question from the myriad others in the dense space? Today many of those questions were answered in trailer form for the upcoming Park Beyod from Bandai Namco.

Which is some mighty big chops. Mimimi Games was also behind the equally excellent Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, so this new venture definitely has some lineage.

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew looks to play in a similar fashion: isometric game-world, stealth and tactical play, only in this new adventure you're a cursed crew of pirates sailing aboard an actual ghost ship with a living soul in an alternate history in the Caribbean.

There, we reckon that got your attention.

Dead Island 2 has been a long time coming, and the wait has been worth it for the most part. It launches in a solid state (at least on Xbox Series X) with excellent performance and impressive visuals. And its next-level zombie destruction combat provides some solid fun that shines in co-op.

It's not often we see a developer make substantial changes to a game based on feedback received during an open beta weekend, and that's partly because most "open beta" weekends arrive just before a game launches and aren't betas at all. That's not the case with Diablo IV, one of the most anticipated releases for 2023.

"Dine with the Dead" is the clever slogan that invites burgerphiles to dine out at the Big Daddy's Burger Bar in my home burb of Newtown (well, close anyway) in Sydney, where the restaurant has teamed up with the Dead Island 2 folks to present a couple of menu items inspired by the game.

Today comes word that Batman Arkham developer Rocksteady's latest superhero outing, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has been delayed to February 2, 2024. Recently we got our first in-depth look at gameplay, and the reaction was lukewarm in how the game looked more like a looter shooter with microtransactions versus a successor to the Arkham trilogy.

"What if Call of Duty had spells and magic and fantasy?". That was a question that set veteran game designer, Bret Robbins, who worked at Sledgehammer Games on the Call of Duty franchise, on a quest to find out. But that's just one part of the game's overall makeup.

Immortals of Aveum is also much more than a 'run-and-gun' shooter with spells. It has all of the bombast and heavy storytelling of a CoD-like, but one look at its innovative and deeply-layered magic system tells an entirely different tale.

And it is EPIC.

Not only do we get to see more of the floating island-laden Hyrule in this long-awaited sequel, but there are also plenty of snippets of new engagements for link from new puzzles and environments, to new communities, allies and, of course, enemies.

Console releases these days usually arrive with two visual modes, Quality, and Performance. The former offers a native or close-to-native 4K resolution with additional visual settings running at 30fps. Performance is the 60 frames-per-second modes rendered at a lower resolution to maintain smooth performance. Arkane's co-op vampire-slaying Redfall is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S with its Quality Mode only.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is here, and we've got a full review of the stylish, sleek, and tiny Founders Edition, at least when you compare its physical size to the GeForce RTX 4090 or RTX 4080. Demakes are love-letters to low-poly, low-fi experiences that take contemporary games and basically remakes them (or parts of them), as if they existed on machines far less powerful than the ones we have now. If you're at all familiar with the anime and manga series, Attack on Titan, you'll know just how significant it is that the Omni-Direction Mobility Gear and the Thunder Spear are now coming to Fortnite, which seems like a very good fit, in particular with the ODM Gear as far as traversal goes.

In addition, the shop will now have the Captain Levi and Mikasa Ackermann outfits available to purchase, while the Eren Jaeger outfit is unlockable in Battle Pass.
