ABZÛ, the new game from Giant Squid (a studio founded by Flower and Journey art director Matt Nava), is about as relaxing and calming a gaming experience as we can remember.

Review by KostaAndreadis @ 14th July, 2016
The Technomancer isn’t a great RPG, but it’s close. Every now and then, the feeling of playing a classic BioWare RPG from a decade or so rises to the surface.

Now, that intro is not meant to derail the game as a whole. From the outset Inside is an intriguing and engaging little beast. It slowly and masterfully presents you with wonderful puzzles and progression, without a single word being uttered, or displayed on-screen. It takes cues from games as far back as Another World as well as the studio’s first opus, Limbo...

Asemblance isn’t an experience built on scares or thrilling moments. It’s more interested in posing mostly subtle and open-ended questions about the nature of memory, mood, and what is real.

Trials of the Blood Dragon takes the very specific physics-based motorcycle fun of the Trials series and injects it with a big fat dose of story. An 80s pop-culture obsessed action spectacle where communist aliens from Mars pop up at a random point, America is the world’s go-to guy for freedom, and bright fluro-headbands and neon lighting are the order of the day.

Emphatically, I’d love to plead a case to the studio that The Witcher needs to live on in some form from here on out, and I may explore this later, but such is the impact this entire product has had on me that I just don’t want to see it go...

Review by KostaAndreadis @ 6th June, 2016
Looking back a decade or so to classic games like Quake 3 Arena or Unreal Tournament, these were games that accomplished what they set out to do. And when you get down to it you could probably add Overwatch to that list right now, a stellar online experience that feels familiar yet still entirely new.

The level of Warhammer-specific detail that has been translated into Total War mechanics is remarkable, ranging from the way in which different types of units compact each other to the way it’s incredibly risky and costly to venture too far into Vampire or Chaos territory. Perhaps the biggest takeaway from Total War: Warhammer is the feeling that, when you’re playing the campaign, you’ll want to experience all the conflict and Chaos from each perspective.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is an enjoyable romp, but it’s essentially an interactive movie with very little player-choice over what any of that interaction is. It’s almost like Naughty Dog are throwing in their credentials to just become the next Pixar...

Marketed as the new game “from the creators of Borderlands” the similarities can be found pretty much right away, from the stylised visuals to the comic and over-the-top dialogue and characters peppered throughout its campaign.

Dark Souls 3 Review (Score: 9.5/10)

Review by Joaby @ 4th April, 2016
Even without the benefit of anything utterly alien to the dedicated Dark Souls player, Dark Souls III can still incite terror, because they use what you already know against you. Curse frogs aren't that big a deal. But what if seven of them attack you in a narrow corridor just after you triggered a mimic? Your best option is probably to just homeward bone and then return so you can trigger each enemy in an orderly fashion, but in a panicked state you won't make that move...

More TV, a little more game, a longer and more carefully handled ending and a challenge boost would have forced my hand to 10/10, easily. But it’s just not all there. Still an amazing experience though, if time travel is your bag...
