PC gamers were understandably upset when it was revealed that the hotly anticipated Batman Arkham City was going to take a little longer to bake on their platform of choice, but at least when it finally does arrive it should be looking even better than it's console counterparts.

The desktop release has now been dated for November 15th 2011 in North America (which likely indicates a November 17th launch in here Australia) and today we also have a new trailer from Nvidia showing off the PhysX and DirectX 11 features that Geforce GTX owners will be able to enjoy (sorry ATI/AMD owners).

Watch the PhysX trailer embedded below or click here for the HD option

There's also a single screenshot showing off some tantalising tessellation.

For our thoughts on the Xbox 360 version of Batman: Arkham City (now in-stores along with the PS3 version), stop by Steve's extensive review.

Most of the effects shown in the "special" PhysX version could be done without PhysX. The only thing PhysX is good for is boobie physics :D

For anyone that wants the previous Batman: Arkham Asylum, they can pick that up for $9.99 on steam. Special ends Thursday 4pm Pacific Time.

2 things. If the catwoman DLC comes with even the standard version of the game, why in the s*** is it even called DLC and not part of the standard game? Who wouldn't want to play as her?

Also I have 2 DLC codes for the PS3 version to give away.

The first 2 costumes. I don't want them since they look ugly but someone here may want.

I'd be keen, which two are you giving away?

DM i think that was covered in another thread, basically the catwoman content is an attempt to get people to buy brand new because you can't get the catwoman content by buying second hand

It's great! If you buy Arkham Asylum for $10 they knock $10 off the price of Arkham City so it pays for itself. Still a great game!

ati till the day i die..... ive had 3 builds in my pc days which have been a hd 4990 then two 4990's and now a 6970..... and to be honest my 4990s could still run this game high settings no worries....

no need for appologies.

Debating which way to go with this one. On one hand, get it for $us40 on Steam and be good to go when it hits next month, although given I'm sitting right on the system specs (C2D 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 9800gtx etc) I'm not sure how the performance will hold out.

The other alternative is to grab the PS3 version and be done with it.

Can you play the game with these skins or are they just for the challenge rooms? I want to play as fatty batman...

I'd prefer a robot unicorn skin myself.

Yes you can use them in single player. But only after you complete the main game.

I was going to get the PC version, but couldn't wait and got it on 360. I'm actually surprised at how good it looks on 360. Not really noticing and aliasing or anything either, just some occasional minor texture popping.

Yeah, I was the same, it does actually look REALLY good on console, I was suprised. Cos I have my XBox hooked up to my PC monitor at the moment, which makes any graphical shortcomings in games even more obvious, but Arkham City still looks sexy.
