The latest beta client update for Valve Software's Steam application now finally allows users to assign games to a new hidden category, removing any unsightly software from your visible list of applications.
Add "Hide this game in my library" functionality, accessible from the Set Categories menu. Games that are hidden will not show up in library filters except for a new filter called "Hidden", which will only appear once at least one game is marked as hidden. Hidden games are still available for play and will still appear on the user's profile.
In addition, there's some other rather significant additions in this latest
beta client version, with some new UI styles and enhancements, and hardware accelerated decoding is now supported for in-home streaming from a Mac OSX machine.
As per usual, you'll need to opt in to beta participation in Steam's settings menu in order to obtain access to the beta client before these features are integrated into the standard Steam experience.
