The Kickstarter crowdfunding drive for InXile's Torment: Tides of Numenera has now closed at a whopping $4.1 million, the largest gaming centred Kickstarter to date and the second-most funded title in Kickstarter history with Ouya taking number one. Since beginning with its original goal of $900,000 the Kickstarter project has seen more than 465% in profit, which will definitely help in the project's creation.
Thank you to all of our backers for making the Torment: Tides of Numenera Kickstarter the success that it was. We are deeply appreciative of your faith, trust, and support. Now it’s up to us to create and deliver the RPG experience we have described, the game you have asked for.
The Kickstarter page has also detailed ways for those who were late to the party to get in on the action, with the chance to pre-order the game through their official website. Due to the large success of the crowdfunding method, the team at InXile were able to garner more support with recent Planescape: Torment lead designer Chris Avellone being added to the team, alongside several other new team members. The title is also being delayed past its original December 2014 release window and into 2015.
