RAGE iPhone Now Available

Anyone keen to check out what Carmack has managed to do with RAGE for the iPhone, can find out today, by accessing iTunes (from a Mac or PC only) and going to the App Store, typing in "Rage" in the search field where it will pop up for the very, very low price of $1.19.

The App is available for iPhone 3/iPod Touch and iPhone 4/iPad (the only HD offering), which you can find links for respectively for your platform of choice above. I'm grabbing it as we speak so can't comment at this minute, because I wanted to give you all the heads up first, because really, with John Carmack behind it, this is kind of a big deal, and I'd hate for you to miss out.

Two versions (one for old hardware like my dinosaur iPod Touch 2G, and one for uber leet new hardware/iPad). Looks like it's only the three levels, but you can replay them over and over.

RAGE on PC will be completely different game to this, this is just a fun iPhone/iPad specific introduction to the RAGE universe. It's not out until 2012 though...

With the advent of companies pumping out different games under the one franchise title (a la Call of Duty, Battlefield, Need for Speed, etc.) at a rate of what seems like more than once a year, any game that takes longer than 12 months from announcement apparently now is turning into DNF.

Starcraft 2 was turning into DNF, GT5 was turning into DNF, Diablo 3 is turning into DNF, RAGE is turning into DNF...

I miss everyone saying <blank> is the new Daikatana...

Pretty impressed for a phone game. Havent played more than the first level - but great graphics and sound. Very fluid too - runs up to 60fps or something.

Went the $2.49 736mb version ....
