CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming December 14, which will see the game take full advantage of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S hardware. All improvements will also be coming to the PC version.

As per the announcement a full deep dive is coming next week, but as per previous reports and statements players can expect the 4K treatment with support for 60 fps modes and even some ray-tracing.

Seeing The Witcher 3 get ray-tracing support is cool, if it's anything like what the studio brought to Cyberpunk 2077 it could potentially be a similar visual game changer. And if the lighting in the teaser image above is anything to go by, we're in for a treat.
