Star Citizen, you've probably heard of it. It's the most successful crowdfunding project to date, and an ambitious space exploration thing that has been in development for about a decade now - with no end in sight. According to a new report, developer Cloud Imperium Games is expanding its UK based studio. Big time.

A new studio that will see the addition of 700 new jobs by 2023, with more than 1,000 over the next five years. And that's just in the UK. This news arrives as Star Citizen closes in on an impressive $400 million USD in crowdfunding. The new Manchester-based division of Cloud Imperium Games (which joins studios in Austin, Frankfurt and Montreal) will continue to work on Star Citizen and the single-player off-shoot Squadron 42.

Here's hoping that this means we get a 1.0 release sometime this decade.
