A live-action movie adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog. A sentence that doesn't instill one with hope. And with the poster reveal today, which you can see in full after the jump, adding "From the Producer of The Fast and the Furious" doesn't help.

Also, Sonic looks to have a human body with a freakishly large head. Shrouded in shadow I guess it's supposed to sell the concept of a dark and edgy Sonic the Hedgehog. From a series with mostly terrible storytelling.

On the bright side there's some decent talent involved including James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Natasha Rothwell, Tika Sumpter, Neal McDonough, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey.

Sonic the Hedgehog is due for release December 12, 2019.

Oh man, I hadn't really noticed the human body thing until I read this and now I won't be able to sleep at night
