8/10 IMHO

I find solo play is great and hectic, but squad and duo is so much more fun.

Super keen to give it a go but bit turned off by all reports of cheating :|

It's fun - I am curious as to whether people predominantly play FP or 3P? The group I play with now exclusively plays First Person only.

Just a friendly note ;)

Rarely come across cheats, hit me up on steam if you get it and we'll squad up sometime.

That is not possible unless you're playing at a time slot that doesn't gel with China. The game is rampant with cheating, absolutely rampant. Filthy f*****s from China have flooded the servers cheating the s*** out of everything. Their goal...earn in-game credits for in game items to sell on the Steam market; the steam market has made PUBG a lucrative market for Chinese farmers. You've got jackets and stuff selling for $200+. Bluehole don't have a clue what to do, but they're too addicted to Chinese $'s to give much of a s*** anyway. I think the comments on Steam say it all.

In over 90% of games I am killed by someone cheating and that is conservative. I'm not talking about subtle stuff here where someone gets butt hurt they died. I'm talking about blatant head snapping/spinning aim botting. Since Chinese cheating went off the charts in December and January, the PUBG player base has dropped by 50%. Battleye claim that 99% of PUBG cheats are from China. But the developers don't want to restrict the Chinese market because of the Money. Steam don't want them doing it either. Over 50% of Steam accounts now originate from China and almost all of them solely for playing PUBG.
I gave up and removed the game last night after 8 games in a row of blatant cheating.

Either you're extremely unlucky, or I'm extremely lucky!
I play a fair bit of PUBG and haven't really come across many cheaters at all. There has definintely been a few, but I've only noticed them in a minority of games from either deathcam showing blatant hacking, or the killfeed showing a name like 222233332 killing everyone.
That said, I pretty much exclusively play duos with a mate, and I get the feeling cheaters would be sticking more to solo for the greater rewards.

The hackers used to be bad for a while but it died down and they handed out millions of bans and I haven't been killed by a hacker in weeks.
I recommend it, it really feels like every game is different.

It would seem that way, it could just be the times I play or because I mostly play TPP. In the last 2 weeks in particular things have really ramped up badly in my own experience. And looking at the game reviews, their forums, twitter, Steam, etc. I don't seem to be alone in having that experience...
I might just fully switch to FPP and ditch TPP altogether.

You won't regret it, it is so much better in First person. And fairer as well.

PUBG Tencent style
Meanwhile Fortnite is logging 3.4 Million concurrent players a night now?? WOW.
I don't like the games aesthetics myself nor 3PP mode so I'm not interested, BUT damn if DICE used the Frostbite 4 engine to make a BR game...THEN you would see some people bailing on PUBG.

I play PUBG every night, I mainly play on the AS servers as the servers just seem less laggy and don't crash as often. I don't see that many cheats, the odd obvious ones but for the most part its usually just being outplayed that gets me killed. I don't play TPP though. Working on my solo ranking on the AS servers, trying to crack into the top 100, but its always that bad game/early death that costs ya.
Hit me up on steam if anyone is looking to play, always keen for duos and squads.

Thanks for your comment. Sorry you have had a s***** experience. As far as what is possible:
After 525 hours played, approx 90% of it during peak hour Australian time (6pm-12pm) on the Australian FPP server I have only come across two players who were definitely cheating.

Nov: 100,000 banned.
Dec: 1.5m banned.
Jan: 1m banned.
That's over 10% of the player base banned in total sales not including bans from February yet which is 1 in 10 players cheating. The last patch or ban round seems to have reduced the number of cheats significantly which is good to see. Still happens, but I would say I'm seeing cheating much less of late though I also play a lot less often.
Also this matchmaking update I think change was probably a big contributor to:
"Unlike the method considered earlier, we are going to divide the matching pool depending on ping. This means that the users with lower pings will be prioritized during matchmaking. The team is expecting to improve the overall play experience by splitting the matching pool rather than restricting connection depending on ping."

Took me 400 hours before I even felt any better at it than when I started :p
