Zenimax Online's Elder Scrolls MMO has once again been delayed for consoles, with the developer pushing the expected release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 into 2015 thanks to a new blog post by game director Matt Firor.

The console version of developer Zenimax Online Studios' massively multiplayer online role-playing game was originally scheduled for a June 2014 release. Publisher Bethesda Softworks announced a six-month delay in May, which would have put the release date sometime this month. The game director's post this week explains the game's roadmap across all platforms and addresses the console release.

"We couldn't be more excited about everything there is to look forward to in 2015," Firor wrote. "We'll be introducing some of the new systems that we've talked about publicly over the last couple of months, and of course, we will be bringing ESO to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One."

The development team will spend the remainder of 2014 continuing work on the console versions, which you can see in the image above from the post, as well as an upcoming update for The Elder Scrolls Online.

"As I've mentioned, we have been (and will continue to be) steadily working on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of ESO," he wrote in a section about the console versions.

"They are playable and fun right now, but there's still some work to do before we can set an official launch date. First and foremost, we want to make sure that two of our most important systems still in development — the Justice and Champion Systems — are included in the console release. Those two systems will introduce a huge amount of content to the game, and we know everyone is looking forward to the new types of gameplay they provide."

"It's also important to note that the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of ESO are not just ports of the PC/Mac game. We have completely replaced the PC user interface with a console-specific UI designed from the ground-up with a controller and a living room play experience in mind. We've also added voice chat and full integration with XBL and PSN. Expect to see lots of news about our console versions in early 2015."

I stopped playing once I reached the veteran ranks. I might pick it up again when it comes to Xbox One just to check it out but I didn't really like the direction they went with their endgame.

i am still playing eso (pc of course... no interest in consoles for me) & i am still enjoying it. i've done all of pact lands & about halfway thru the covernant lands.

i kinda liked how when you finish the main story in your initial land of choice, you can then start a new area where everything is veteran rank. veteran ranks seemed to go way too slow at the beginning but once you start punching a level above your own, it goes a lot faster.

Yeah couldn't get into it given it a few tries, they really need cross platform play for it to survive

I'm still playing it and loving it (have 2 accounts atm). Really looking forward to Update 6 (Jan 2015), Provisioning overhaul, new combat graphics, the first half on the Justice system and the completion of the Champion system. Yes they had their troubles during release, but ESO is only getting stronger and better!!

@Tanaka-Khan is my account name if anyone is interested.
