AusGamers' returning champion interviewer Joab "Joaby" Gilroy is back to chat with legenday developer and creator of the Borderlands series Randy Pitchford, or as Joaby dubs him Randy "Fucking" Pitchford the Second.
The key topic of the interview was the thought process behind 2K Australia's first DLC for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the addition of a playable Handsome Jack.
It is something I've wanted to do for a long time. In fact, when we started Borderlands, and before even the first line of code was written, I was in a creative meeting and I was banging my fists on the table insisting. And then we had this awesome narrative start to emerge when realised there was all this opportunity to tell the story that we told, but Jack had to be the main protagonist NPC character.
It wasn't until we got to the end of development that we begun thinking of DLC, and someone came up with the brilliant idea that Jack would totally have a body double, and that could be our angle in making [him] a playable character.
