Publisher Deep Silver has announced today that their Dead Island-inspired MOBA has entered its next phase, and the game is now available 24 hours per day.
Revealed late August last year, Dead Island: Epidemic is the third title in the zombie series, and the first to adopt the multiplayer online battle arena approach. Previously the closed beta was only available during select timeframes, however now has expanded following successful testing.
Zombies aren't the only thing to fear - Players will square off against each other in 3 teams of 4 players, fighting both each other as well as a wide-range of zombies and freakish super-bosses, normal walkers to heavily infected creatures. Some will even require the cooperation of all 3 competing teams to take them down!
The free-to-play title is also boasting a range of craftable weapons, the cornerstone feature from the co-op Dead Island titles of past. The system will allow you to "get the edge (pun intended) on the competition and build an arsenal to suit your playstyle." Those interested can find signups available on the
official website.
Dead Island: Epidemic has yet to be given a release date, and is currently planned for a PC release.
