Nintendo of Australia has let us know the handheld 3D imagining of the Tekken series, Tekken 3D Prime Edition, will be landing on retail shelves for the Nintendo 3DS this coming February 23.

The game looks fantastic, and plays beautifully on the device, at least for the short amount of time Dan and I saw it out at TGS last year (not nearly enough to warrant a preview), but we were both actually blown away by the fidelity of both the base visuals and just how good the 3D looked. Ninty has also reminded us to remind you they have a slaw of other games dropping including Resident Evil: Revelations (review in-bound), Metal gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and Kid Icarus: Uprising, among many others.

It's about time the 3DS started throwing its weight around, and it'll be interesting to see how this assertion of solid releases stacks up against Sony's forthcoming PS Vita. Stay tuned for the oncoming storm, right here on AusGamers.

Besides the obvious one? Not much. Well I think one character is younger (heihatchi? iirc?) and uh that's about it..
