Courtesy of EA and DICE, we've got a phat stack of beta keys to give away for the testing phase of their free shooter, Battlefield Play4Free. For those who came in late:
Combining the most popular maps from Battlefield 2 with the familiar classes and powerful weapons of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, players have access to 16 vehicles including the Mil Mi-28 attack helicopter, its nemesis the F35 VTOL jet fighter, the massive Russian T-90 main battle tank, and the hard to catch LSV light strike vehicle. Players progress through the game to learn new combat skills, and earn in-game currency to spend on a massive array of devastating weapons and equipment.
Our Play4Free game page has more information and screenshots, as well as a couple of videos showing off the gameplay. You need to be an AusGamers member; if you are and want to take this game for a test run, grab your key now, but be quick - numbers are limited.

Gave it a go but I kept getting kicked from the server. Gonna uninstall it although from what I saw it looked half decent I guess.

It's basically BF2 with bit updated controls etc. It's actually really fun, and worthy of playing just for the BF2 maps. Needs a few updates like server browser, but I'm sure they will come in due time.

I've been epically frustrated with what I'm working on at the moment, and, naturally, have turned to battlefield play for free. Have to say, I'm really enjoying it. Ty Ausgamers.

meh, feels like a free game... 1st try disconnected, 2nd played 30 seconds - kicked for high ping, 3rd played 10 mins of laggy mess then game crashed as i opened parachute

Haha I friggin love this game, and always thought I sucked at fps until I actually tried to play one.
