Short and sweet, this new trailer, which is exclusive to AusGamers for the next little bit, gives a brief glimpse into the high-rolling lifestyle you'll be able to virtually live in Atari's forthcoming Test Drive Unlimited 2.

If you've never played Test Drive Unlimited, the game represents more than just a driving experience; it's the embodiment of material desire - offering up a taste of living it up rich and glamorously, on an island paradise in opulent houses with equally opulent furniture (as shown here). And pool parties. Lots of pool parties.

I played in one of the beta things and it was alright but not great (i know its a beta), it seemed to be more desolate and less WOW moments just driving around. But then you can go back to Hawaii which is awesome.

After owning one test drive title, playing unlimited on a mates PC and seeing that video I'm going to avoid all test drive titles for the entire future I exist on this planet. They just keep getting worse and worse. If I could build a time machine and stop myself buying the original, I would.

Sure, it says 'Houses' in the trailer title but I kinda would have hoped that the driving bit would be the main selling point of a driving game.

Very Odd

The average person who will be buying TDU2 (ie a driving fan), will not be interested much in playing house, and the average person who likes playing house (ie playing the Sims) wouldnt buy a driving game

Still, I'll be getting this game for sure when its released

Didn't they say in one of them its more of a lifestyle game then a driving game or something, or did i just make that up. Cause im sure i've heard them go on a lot about 'lifestyle'

They are about the lifestyle yea, it's part of the MMO approach they are taking with this game. Kinda like a social community and a bit of role playing. I've played the first TDU and the beta to this second one and it is about driving... mostly.

Oh noes! A game that isn't strictly about one thing and has no extra features or options in it which I can ignore entirely if I so choose!

This game must be crap if the makers love it so much that they go the extra mile to make it more than just another driving sim. Curse them and their dedication for ruining a game by offering more!
