AusGamers: Alright, welcome back to AusGamers on the E3 show-floor, we're here with Wes Philips, North American PR Manager for Capcom and Dead Rising 2: Case Zero, which is an exclusive prologue to Dead Rising 2 coming to Xbox 360.

Wes Philips: That's right, so only Xbox 360 owners will be able to play Case Zero.

AG: And so what's special about Case Zero? Obviously everyone can play Dead Rising 2, but if you're a big enough fan of the series, what are you going to get out of the prologue beyond a bit of extra story?

Wes: Well what I would say is the great thing about Case Zero is that it will hit before Dead Rising 2 comes out. So Xbox 360 Dead Rising fans will have a chance to get a taste of the game before anybody else, because it's exclusive to that platform.

AG: So how did this come about? Was it a case of instead of just dropping a demo, which doesn't always offer very much, wanting to just make something more out the game? Or was there always a plan to drop prologue?

Wes: Well we sort of always had the plan to do something like this. A lot of demos just take a chunk of the original game and put it out there early and for free or whatever, this is actually a whole story on its own and is different to Dead Rising 2 - so none of this content is actually in Dead Rising 2 so you essentially get a small portion of Dead Rising 2, but a game in itself, on Xbox Live before the game is released.

AG: Now is Case Zero co-op friendly?

Wes: Case Zero will be co-op friendly, yes.

AG: What sort of play-length are we talking about? You were saying that it's a short prologue to the main story; are we talking a couple of hours or maybe a bit longer?

Wes: Well I guess Dead Rising is sort of what you make of it, because obviously you can run around the world and have fun with everything there, but it's definitely more substantial than just a couple of hours.

AG: And so anyone who gets Case Zero; anything they do in the game, will that translate then on Xbox 360 to the final retail copy of Dead Rising 2?

Wes: It actually will translate to Dead Rising 2, but only to a point. There's a cap - and we're not going to say exactly what that cap is at this point - but there will be things in general that will carry over to the main game, so you'll want to play Case Zero.

AG: So there are no special weapons you can only create in Case Zero you could carry over to Dead Rising 2?

Wes: So the combo weapon system is in place in Case Zero, so you'll get some practice; you get to learn about the system, experiment... I'm not going to say it is and what isn't in each game as far as the combo weapons, because we're leaving that for everyone to discover for themselves later on, but I will say that people will be satisfied, there'll be some cool stuff in Case Zero.

AG: And so any gained PP from prologue - will that carry over as well?

Wes: Yeah, totally. So when I talk about carrying it across to Dead Rising 2 it definitely comes in with PP and all that kind of stuff; it's essentially an extension for the Xbox 360 of Dead Rising 2 to give yourself a little bit of a head-start.

AG: Okay great, thanks very much for that Wes.

Wes: Yeah, totally.
