Who is the protagonist from the first game. In a blink or you'll miss it glimpse, we get to see a much younger Marston with fresh scars. Which became a key part of the character's visual identity in the original Red Dead Redemption. Set before the events of the first game it's unclear how big a role Marston will play in the sequel.

Dropping just under an hour ago, you can check out the full trailer here. We've snapped the image of Marsten below.

As per the new story description which notes, "After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee." It makes sense for Marston to at least make a cameo appearance as he has a connection to the Van der Linde gang.

As a sequel that's also a prequel we don't expect that you'd need a deep understanding of Red Dead lore going into the experience, but it's cool that fans of the original will get to see some direction connection to what is still one of the great open world adventures.

I'm pretty sure the first voice you hear when they storm the bank is Marston too
