Players of Forza Motorsport 5 on Xbox One can now race around the Nürburgring for no additional charge.

The game’s developer, Turn 10, has made a new free track pack available for the game. The download pack includes three versions of the Nürburgring track, including the 21km Nordschleife or northern loop, the Grand Prix circuit and the 26km combined circuit.

To bring possibly the world’s most famous track onto the Xbox One, the team at Turn 10 laser scanned the circuit. It then employed a team of over 30 artists to recreate the circuit virtually. All up, the company says it invested 13,000 man hours to bring every corner, bump, tree and piece of track graffiti to life.

Upon downloading the track into the game, the Nürburgring and its various incarnations will available in single-player career and rivals mode, as well as multiplayer.

Forza Motorsport 5 will be gaining two additional DLC packs featuring a nice round number of 10 new cars, developer Turn 10 has announced.

It was initially believed that the Meguiar's Car Pack earlier this month was to conclude the game's stream of monthly add-ons, but now Turn 10 is extending the life of the game further with two more car packs tied to June and July respectively. Due to the way the calendar falls, Turn 10 is bringing June's add-on a couple of days forward, so it actually launches on Friday, 30th May.

Those owning the Season Pass will be able to redeem these two new packs for free, a little something that Turn 10's Brian Ekberg calls "a thank you to all of our most loyal fans." Like past DLC packs, these two new ones will each introduce 10 new cars, pushing the total count to 90 in Forza 5.

Forza Motorsport 5, from Turn 10 Studios, is the latest addition to the long-running racing franchise. Forza Motorsport 5 sets a new bar for racing games with the inclusion of the Drivatar AI enhancements, allowing cloud-sourced replications of a player's driving IQ.

To get us up to speed on just what the newest series in Forza Motorsport has to offer to racing fans is vehicle fanatic Joaby Gilroy.
Forza Motorsport 5 is a technical marvel and a truly next-gen experience. Drivatar technology needs to be implemented into every game as soon as possible, and people looking for a fantastic looking driving game need look no further. Still, thanks to a pointless need to streamline the experience Turn 10 has robbed the game of some of its heart.

Turn 10 has unveiled new details on their traditional Car Pass for upcoming Xbox One launch title Forza Motorsport 5, revealing monthly additions to the car lineup through Car Packs.
"Forza Motorsport" has been the foremost racing video game franchise in its support and development of post-release content, delivering new cars months before they hit showrooms, and continuing to add automotive icons sought after by fans around the world.

The tradition will continue on Xbox One with “Forza Motorsport 5” Car Packs to be released on a monthly basis following the launch of “Forza Motorsport 5”. For the first time ever, every vehicle will be available in Forzavista mode; allowing players to explore every inch of each car… inside and out.
Each Forza Motorsport Car Pack will include ten individual cars, with the first pack arriving on the launch of the Xbox One, come November 22nd. Subsequent packs will be available the first week of every month, beginning January through March 2014. Fans of specific makes and models may choose to purchase individual cars, a la carte, while devout fans may opt for the Forza Motorsport 5 Car Pass.

Those looking at taking up the full Car Pass offer will be passing over $49.99, apparently a saving of 18% compared to buying the individual Car Packs. The first Car Pack available on launch has also been revealed, with players able to to enter the cockpit of Ferrari’s long-awaited new hypercar in the LaFerrari Car Pack. Powered by an innovative 950-hp hybrid engine and limited to 499 global production units, when released, the LaFerrari will be one of the fastest and rarest cars in the world, and Forza fans will get the unique chance to drive the digital experience before anyone else.

In addition to the LaFerrari, the pack will include nine additional cars, details of which will be unveiled by the Forza team through their official website on November 18th. Keep an eye on AusGamers' front page for more on these additional cars.

Microsoft has sent through an exclusive Forza Motorsport 5 video to AusGamers showcasing a slew of new cars that will be gracing the Xbox One launch title.
Developers for “Forza Motorsport 5” visited the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans race at the Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France, together with Audi Sport Team Joest, the most successful team in modern endurance racing, as they prepared to defend their 2012 title in the preeminent endurance race. Commonly known as the Grand Prix of Endurance and Efficiency, 24 Hour of Le Mans race teams and vehicles have to balance speed, technology, and perseverance in a race that is widely regarded as one of the toughest in all of motorsports.
This is definitely one for the car nerds out there, and further evidence the Turn 10 team take the representation of environments and cars in their game super seriously.

AusGamers was invited out to this year's Bathurst 1000 as a guest of Microsoft's to sit down with Turn 10 and take a look at their inclusion of Mount Panorama in Forza Motorsport 5. It was definitely a "when in Rome" sort of moment.

But further to the spectacle of the live sport, it was a great opportunity to take in just how far the studio has gone to capture one of our most iconic tracks, which has also been one of their most-requested as far as enthusiasts and the Forza community go. And the similarities, ins, outs and ups and downs are spot-on.

Ever popular UK motoring enthusiast show Top Gear has let it be known that its enigmatic driving character The Stig will be represented by his so-called Digital Cousin in the upcoming Xbox One exclusive racing sim title Forza Motorsport 5, along with the Top Gear test track:
Yes, Internet, making his debut in Forza Motorsport 5 is the virtual version of our tame racing driver -- though this one's slightly different. He -- or it -- is allegedly beatable. But only if you're really good. That means you lucky folks who plan on snapping up the shiny new Xbox One and Forza 5 next month will be among the planet's first to take him on.

As you know, Forza 5 will feature the Top Gear test track, rendered in meticulous detail, including the follow-through and Gambon sections. Though the ramshackle shed where we store all of our crisps might not have made the cut.
A promotional video shows off The Stig doing his driving thing behind the wheel of the Xbox One Racing Team's pimped out Super V8 Holden VF Commodore, which will be competing as a wildcard entrant in this weekend's Bathurst 1000 race.

Forza Motorsport 5 is due exclusively on Xbox One on November 22nd 2013.

Check it out below. The Xbox One will be available on November 22nd across 13 countries including Australia and New Zealand, with Forza Motorsport 5 launching alongside the console.

Microsoft and Forza Motorsport 5 Developer Turn 10 Studios have announced that the iconic Australia race track Mount Panorama will be among the circuits featured in their upcoming Xbox One exclusive racing sim.
Dan Greenawalt, Creative Director at Turn 10 Studios said, “Few circuits have been requested more by the worldwide Forza fanbase than Bathurst, and for good reason. It holds a special place in motorsports history as one of the most demanding and challenging circuits in the world. In addition, the timing couldn’t be better to finally bring Bathurst to the Forza series; with ‘Forza Motorsport 5’, we’re able to bring the circuit to life in a way that nobody else can.

“Through the use of cutting-edge technology like laser-scanning and our new materials-based graphics engine, we can now precisely reproduce the characteristics of every corner, straight and detail to sub-centimeter accuracy; from the narrow twists and turns of the Esses, to the thrilling rollercoaster sprint down the Conrod Straight. This is the Bathurst that racing fans have been asking for years and we’re proud to bring it to them in ‘Forza Motorsport 5.’”
Promoting its upcoming console and new Forza title, Microsoft is also sponsoring a racing team as a wildcard entrant in this year's Bathurst 1000 event, with a Holden VF Commodore dressed up in Xbox green.
With international champion race car drivers, Andy Priaulx and Mattias Ekström behind the wheel, the Xbox One Racing Team will be boosted by the support of long time Xbox ambassador and Team mentor, Mark Skaife and Triple Eight Race Engineering Team Owner, Roland Dane.
Forza Motorsport 5 is due as a launch title for the Xbox One console, and will be landing in Australia on November 22 2013.

Oddly, there's no in-game video of the track in Forza 5 to accompany the announcement, only a single screenshot, but you can also watch a clip of the Xbox Racing team's sponsored car below.
