who's going to win?
i would think mayweather for pure boxing, but he is old and old people are terrible at everything. dont really care for either fighter, still interested in the spectacle. |
Backing Connor for this one just like the horn fight this is a bit of a changing of the guard |
Mcgregor will have to go after him early and try to out muscle him which I suspect is what he will do. I still don't have a lot of faith in his cardio when compared to boxers, sure he is a class MMA fighter but its a different thing and he did gas against Nate twice. That being said I have no doubt he will have put some work into it so I guess we will only truly see how his cardio is if the fight goes close to the distance.
I doubt he can win in a points decision and if it does go the distance I expect Mayweather to just rack up the points round after round. Of course Mcgregor does have the capacity to finish this fight with one good punch but Mayweather isn't considered the best defensive boxer of our time for no reason. What will be interesting to see is how Mayweather deals with Mcgregors movement. He is going to come out him quite differently that what he is used to seeing |
McGregor needs to knock him out or he won't win
|
One is a undefeated multiple World Champion Boxer
The other is a D******* People are going to pay to watch this ? if you like this kind of thing check out WWE |
Facey thinks there is honor in boxing matches. |
Anyone got a stream if it isn't too late?
|
I wouldn't mind seeing Mcgregor knock out Mayweather, but I don't think it will happen. Mayweather is still very quick and a 49 - 0 record doesn't come by accident. Unless McGregor is a lot fitter than he was 6 months ago, I think Mayweather will win this one in the 5th or 6th.
This is no "changing of the guard" McGregor is simply not a boxer. He can fight, no doubt about that, but he is not a boxer. |

I got it going thanks to spook
This is some good s***. I am not a fighting or boxing person at all but i am completely fascinated to see how connor goes |
respect to mcgregor, he did better than i thought he would.
|
run out of gas as I thought he would and Mayweather just kept picking him off.
Not a bad result, Mayweather did as should have done and Mcgregor walked away with some respect and a fist full of cash. As a spectacle it was fun to watch |
this was an average fight, macgregor was way out of his depth
|
Well, other than the round it was called in, it went just as predicted. Now for the follow up fight. Mayweather comes to MMA !!!
lol. He'd last maybe 1 round in MMA. |
He'd be submitted in ten seconds.
|
Boxing is all about who can conserve energy the best. Mayweather tapped his reserves in the final rounds, Mcgregor had nothing left in him.
|
Kudos to Mcgregor but he never had a chance imo. Mayweather gave him the first 3 rounds to see what he could do, as he usually does. Then starting picking him apart from round 4 onwards, also as he usually does. Would have KO'd Mcgregor for sure in the 11th if they hadn't called it on TKO. Just watch Mayweather's highlight reel, dude ain't 50-0 for nothing! Kinda hard to believe given he's 40 and Mcgregor's 29. Wonder how he keeps in shape!?
Still, even more kudos to Mcgregor for making it happen and giving himself global cred / advertising and a $30-$70m payday in the process, not to mention a $100m + one for Mayweather. |
Macgregor was just having a crack tbh, he did alright
Rematch in mma rules imo |
Mcgregor will pull in way more than that once the counting stops Viper. they're estimating at least $130M for him.
Edit* - which is insane, given he was only worth about 35mill before the fight |
fight was about as good as could possibly have been hoped for besides a mcgregor ko.
but neither of them comes close to deserving what they made from it. the bout certainly didn't do any favours to either sports, boxing especially, in terms of ensuring a strong future built on development of young fighters that have a clear path to an enduring legacy. tho I guess that's kinda always been the case. superfights are good(ish) for the fans but bad for the sport. |
Was McGregor sporting a stiffy at the weigh in?
