A newly discovered species of chameleon perches on a scientist's fingertip. The miniaturised lizard was discovered on the African island nation of Madagascar, and measures just tens of millimetres from head to tail. |
madagascar is awesome, so many cool species found there :)
|
Cool, but not sure why you would want one. That would make a boring pet.

Tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, chameleon.
|
heh it looks a lot like a baby bearded dragon :) cept 10x smaller. Not sure if scientist fingernail.colour is in its répertoire. Imagine 50 of those in amongst someones dreadlocks. |
I really wanted a chameleon as a pet but nope, illegal in australia. So are ferrets but only in queensland for some f*****g unknown reason. Are there any cool animals that aren't illegal here? Bulls*** and shennanigans I say.
|
the one on the right looks sad. |
that is f*****g small. my cats would need at least a dozen to be satiated.
would you recommend mornay or kilpatrick? |
Yeah, anything that's cool you can't have as a pet, OR it would completely shred all your furniture.
Fairy Penguins as pets. Now that would be cool :P In the US, they breed Sugar Gliders as pets. But because they're Australian native animals, it's illegal to have them as pets here. |
I've always wanted a sloth. They're so awesome.

10 millimetres long? so a centimetre then? Just stand back a distance and put your index finger where that one is to get an idea. It's probably bigger than 1 centimeter but hey it is complete for a reptile. |
I've always wanted a sloth. They're so awesome. kristen bell's boyfriend gave her one for her birthday http://z6mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/kristen-bell-sloth.jpg |
Not something that would really work as a pet, but I always enjoy seeing the older Sea Turtles when I go diving... Was diving at Julian Rocks (Byron Bay) last weekend and saw this loggerhead which was probably 1.1~1.3m in shell length, so nearing the (or past the expected) end of it's life, 65+ years. Also saw a pretty big Green turtle (which would have been as old/older) but didn't get any good pics of it.
https://sites.google.com/site/sgrattan/pictures/loggerhead1.jpg https://sites.google.com/site/sgrattan/pictures/loggerhead2.jpg I have thought about getting a Reptile permit and getting a fresh water turtle as a pet... but 50+ years (assuming things go right) is a long commitment for a pet... |
marble pole cat, cool name, cooler animal
|
i love sloths, i want one :)
