Best way to get uncensored l4d2 in aus nowdays?
I know there have been a few threads about this already. I have them bookmarked but I just wanted to be sure as i'm about to click the purchase button tonight ($50).
What is the best way to get the uncensored version of l4d2 nowdays? is it still to purchase with the ?cc=au or whatever using a new steam account and then gift it to yourself? Also, are people who use this method still cool to play with those people that are censored? Thanks in advance |

its fun for a bash.. but getting stale fast, im totally hanging out for the DLC whenever it comes.

yeh it does get boring faster, but it's not a whole new game - it's extensions to the first, so it's to be expected
I tallied 700 hours in the first game, but stopped playing the second several weeks ago at about 350 hours worth |

Yeah I am getting over it mostly due to f*****g s*** c**** that seem to infest the servers. Still got over 200 hours out of it which is good value, lot of good times in that 200 hours, a lot of s*** times as well though.
Awesome game, just needs some polish and less s*** f*****s. Talking about versus mode here. Don't bother with co-op modes. |

Special thanks to ctd, i used your method since it was so very easy. I also selected the UK as the place i lived in for my billing details, just in case. Didn't know if i should or not. So how can i tell if i have uncensored version, some easy way by checking a game file exists or something rather then having to check via in game? |

It's pretty obvious
Start the game and if you have piles of Zombies on the ground with blood an body parts going everywhere, you got the uncensored version. Hell, I can see straight through chest cavities after a Desert Eagle shot :) |

okay so i have been reading up on l4d2 and the workarounds for the censorship
some posts say you need to use a vpn others say you can do without, is the vpn essential? and if i buy the 4 pack do you then just gift it the way you normally would? thankyou |

Well it looks like Valve (or the other stinky publishers more like it) are cracking down on people using the UK trick.
I recommend trying the VPN. Because it is a Valve game they probably wont care about the trickery. Worst case is you'll get an error at the credit card payment screen. If you were buying Activision or 2k games you'd probably get your money refunded or whatever happened to Syco in that GTA thread. |

hah mw2 for pc is a total joke, pretty fun when you get going but finding a game makes me rage.
