I saw an ad today for this new channel set to soft-launch on the 9th of August. Apparently it's channel 9's attempt to pull people back from ONE. Was pretty skeptical but i did some research and apparently its going to be playing:
Nine Network CEO, David Gyngell, said: "Typical programs on Go! will be favourites such as Gossip Girl, The Hills, Fringe, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Weeds, The Wire, Survivor, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, CSI and hit comedy series Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. a channel of seinfeld, curb and ramsay sounds good enough to me http://channelnine.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=837875 |
holy s***, i might start watching tv again?
|
It's not very exciting at the moment. Just says, Go! starting soon. That was the first time I saw an extended list of what was going to be on the channel and all I can say is "hell yes"!
|
its just like foxtel for poor people!
|
do you have to scan again?
i hate that cause it screws up my favs |
Yeah, my TV (plasma, lol) picked up the new channel yesterday.
Of that list, only Fringe and Seinfeld interest me. I must say I'd still rather pay for TV shows than watch ads. Apple TV ftw (I wish they'd expand their library though). |
Sweet.. The wire! I'll be watching for sure!
|
sounded good until seinfeld was mentioned..
|
The ads in TV is just freaking rediculous, I watched NCIS the other night because I CBF moving of the couch, and I go sooo frustrated with the ads. Maybe I am just a softc***.....
|
Ads seem to be getting more and more frequent during shows. Take 7pm project for example, it'll have 2mins left till 7:30, at 7:28 charlie will say be right back after these breaks, they come back and just say bye..
|
the 7pm project is the worst television show ever. its pathetic.
p.s this is the right way to go about free tv. |
ive already seen all the latest eps for the decent shows they are airing :/
|
I dunno about this but ONE is f***en s***. It's like all the sports you aren't watching. Except a few... maybe.
They had a perfect opportunity to use the channel for the Ashes or tour france... nope f***en baseball and nascar. Unless SBS already had the contract otherwise they fail. Seinfeld every day looks good but |
Sounds good to me, as long as it's not another f*****g sport channel + 1 |
More chances to check out that Serena Van der Woodsen or whatever you call it would be most welcome.
|
why doesn't channel 9 just put their good shows all on channel 9? i mean why is it just two and a half men all night every night? such a s*** show.
|
Could be cool. If there's some other good stuff on there too, it might actually make me watch TV again. Occasionally.
|
So many Seinfeld haters
Much Respect Brothers! |
about time they show the final season of the wire, while apparently the abc or abc2 will be showing all seasons of it soon.
|
Welfare Television gets another handout.
The people are hungry ? Let them eat cake. |
Yeah. The agreement was basically that Ten would do sports, Nine would do drama/action/sitcoms etc, and Seven would do lifestyle programs on their secondary channels.
So expect Seven to come out with an announcement that they'll be showing a s***load of reruns of Better Homes and Gardens in the next month or twoo. |
Tell you what Peasants.
The Optus satellite goes up very soon and Foxtel is gonna go into HyperTVdrive. Theres going to be at least another 20 quality channels coming online. More sport more movie more entertainment more more more Heres a secret squirrel .... http://johnjet-sneakpeak.blogspot.com/ there is a lot more to come. Commercial TV knew this day was coming. Thats why theyve finally got their finger out but its too late. They are very afraid. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED |
cable tv just plays the same s*** every damn day, why would you pay to watch the same thing 50 times?
|
yes, ads are the worst evar, i cant go on because i see ads, waah wah, waaaaaah
|
thats why god created the remote.
No Shuttle Launches at my place. |
paying to sit in a vegetative passive state, charming.
|
Seinfeld is my favourite jew.
|
1 or 2 decent shows on there, but nothing that really peaks my interest.
|
another 20 quality channels coming online Another? |
IQ then just fast forward the ads.
|
I'll continue to leech what I wanna watch commercial free. I'm guessing that channel will still be full of ads.
“And later this year GO! will broadcast the most anticipated new show of the US television season, The Vampire Diaries, which is about a high school girl torn between two rival vampire brothers. Looks like Rob Pattinson is going to have some competition here. |
Gossip Girl, Fringe, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Weeds, The Wire, Survivor, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Quoted for quality. If they can deliver that lineup then my Media Center recorder will be a happy machine. Note for the ignorant. The Wire is one of, if not the best drama I've watched. Get on board. |
Get it early, no ads, no waiting. Except while it downloads. |
i have plenty of tv that i dont care enough about to download, but ill happily watch if its on (foxtel)
|
Seriously if you dont want ads pay $100 install and $10 month for an IQ.
I cant be bothered and instead just got a higher package. |
pay a premium for repeats of will & grace. the foxtel way
|
it still boggles my mind that people are so upset by ads
id be hard pressed to remember any ad i see on foxtel or fta (except for that damn obriens ad with the fishtank) |
On a slightly related note. Digital radio has started and NovaNation is a new station.
Sick. Goldy had radio metro now we got something. Pitty you need a digital radio though so I dunno how useful it would be cause who listens to radio not in a car? Good for streaming if you dont have your mp3 list handy. |
i feel like im going to miss my old head unit which had DAB for the last couple of years
|
hmm..nova nation might be good..
that's if they play non boring dance music..needs some hard stuff not stuff you hear on b105, nova and triple j every friday night..same boring stuff last edited by Damo at 17:23:27 12/Aug/09 |
yeah, the idea has potential but i get the feeling by 'dance music' they mean 'popular house/electro'.
i'd be willing to bet you won't hear much of any other genre apart from the odd trance or dnb track that appeals to the masses thrown in. |
