198X is endearing, and how it presents a compilation of sorts of an era is something that leaves a positive if not lasting impression.

Just Cause 2 gives you plenty of cause to create chaos, destruction and fun in sandbox gaming at its best. The story, scripting and characters lack a punch, but the game itself is an absolute blast...

Command & Conquer 4 as an experience fluctuates between reactions that are polar opposite of each other. This ‘let’s try something new’ approach is not a complete disaster, even if the in-game chat window is full of comments along these lines. It works, and it doesn’t. It’s enjoyable, and it’s frustrating. It feels like a battle heavy RTS, and it feels like the RTS equivalent of a button masher.

...as I stare at the various tattered postcards and burnt portraits on my dimly lit wall, I imagine what the future of this world beholds. Flying demons or 'dark ones', mutants, humans... I can't decide who is worse - our fellow brethren or the horrible, evolutionary creatures that plague our very existence...

Pairing unique and relatively unknown (in the west) anime characters with an otherwise incredibly well-known Capcom roster might sound like a werstern release gamble, but that's just the sort of nice guys Capcom are. Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is easily the Wii's best fighting game and one of the craziest games you'll play in the fighting genre. Period....

All told, we regret to report that Aliens vs Predator is a dissapointment to our (admitedly lofty) expectations. Some bad decisions and half-baked features (including an incredibly clunky menu-UI) seem to indicate either a product rushed to market or a token-effort port of a console focused game for the piracy riddled PC platform. It's not a total wash though and most fans of Aliens, Predator and shooters in general will no doubt find at least some value here.

Built upon the same engine as Empire, Napoleon is more of an evolution as opposed to revolution, with minor improvements and changes across the board. Historically a strategy title such as this would be labelled as an expansion due to the similarities to its predecessor and its gameplay progressions merely being refinements as opposed to radical changes...
