Vanquish is by no means a bad game and is definitely well worth having a look at if high-speed combat gets your engine revving...

Driving a rally stage is one of the most knuckle blanching experiences one can have, and despite not going bumper to bumper against racing opposition, the pressure of being precise, clean and fast is enough to quicken the heart rate of any racing fan.

But even though first impressions last, the problem here is that the entire game is essentially a first impression. There’s not a problem with keeping a game short and sweet, especially one focused on action and spectacle but there is a problem when playing the game you get a distinct feeling that not only is half of the story missing, but also the environments and levels to go with it...

This iteration of Scribblenauts is more accessible and overall less frustrating than the original game. It also attracts a crowd of helpful onlookers willing to throw in their 2 cents worth.

The NBA 2K franchise, with its realistic gameplay and excellent game modes, would have to be considered the best basketball title in the market today, and the addition of Michael Jordan only strengthens an already excellent game...

If you are going into this expecting a real challenge then you might as well back up now. Although the camera can be frustrating during combat, and the gameplay mechanics are relatively straightforward, the game’s story, visuals and characters make this thoroughly enjoyable...

Beyond the technical shortcomings though, I can’t put the damn game down. And like I said, it’s big. Really big. Dauntingly big. But engagingly so. The writing is much tighter, the characters more engaging, the world more tangible and your investment in it so much more personal...

There’s nothing that Lords of Shadow does that feels all that new or fresh, but what it does offer in terms of recognisable gameplay elements and features are implemented quite well with the focus here placed squarely on being a large scale epic...

A lot of how you feel about the game will boil down to how you decide to play from the outset though. I chose to go after all of the game’s elements in my first play through, which has lead to a lot of frustration, but again, it’s difficult to put down so it’s definitely doing something right...

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 isn’t too much of a leap over the first game. The set-up is essentially the same, while the action and visuals make it feel more like a 1.5 than a full sequel...
