Forza Motorsport is the next game in the mainline sim racing series designed for Xbox Series X|S and PC and as part of the Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct we got a closer look at some of the insane levels of detail you can expect when it launches sometime in 2023. From ray-tracing to dirt forming on cars realistically to a detailed crash model - it's all, yeah, wow.
Check it out. There's also mention of a single-player career mode focused on car building, though it wasn't shown.
On top of 500 cars (100 new to the franchise), 800 car upgrades, 20 environments featuring multiple track layouts (5 new locations), here's some of the next-level realism you can expect.
Cars now have context-aware damage and dirt buildup authentic to each vehicle.
Tracks were created using photogrammetry leading to 10 times the detail, including vegetation and overgrowth. Plus there will be tens of thousands of fully animated spectators.
Tracks feature a dynamic time of day and weather, which affects track surfaces and temperatures.
There's also physically based lighting, procedurally generated clouds, and volumetric fog effects.
Ray-traced global illumination will also add to the realism, alongside ray-traced reflections, running at 4K 60 fps.
Audio has been overhauled to deliver immersive and dynamic Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos surround. And there are new regional track announcers too.
