The world of the tactical role-playing game is a varied and global one, spanning numerous countries of origin which tends to make for a different *flavour* game to game, depending on its development home. In Japan, where many feel the genre is most advanced, titles such as Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics and the more recent Triangle Strategy reign supreme.

Now a new IP has entered the fray, and from an ex-Fire Emblem director, to boot -- Redemption Reapers.

Enter a mature fantasy world brought to life by a development team featuring RPG icon Masayuki Horikawa (Fire Emblem series director and scenario/level designer; Kingdom Hearts III planning) alongside an all-star voice cast featuring Kyle McCarley (13 Sentinels: Aegis of Ruin, NieR: Automata), Allegra Clark (Apex Legends, Dragon Age: Inquisition), David Lodge (Persona 5, Final Fantasy XV), and Lucien Dodge (Fire Emblem: Three Houses, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series).

The Ashen Hawk Brigade is outnumbered against the ruthless, rampaging Mort army. Overcome seemingly insurmountable odds in tactical showdowns across 3D maps, outsmarting the brute force of the enemy with synergies between party members. Craft new weapons with the spoils of victory, and witness the bond of battle deepen the relationships between a band of warriors...
As you can see from the above, Redemption Reapers hits all of the archetypal boxes, but in our view has a bit of an edge, presenting as much darker and more mature than its aforementioned ilk.

The game is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC in February, 2023. Stay tuned for more as we have it.
