The Brothers’ War is the latest set coming to Magic: The Gathering on November 18, 2022. With a focus on two brothers, Urza and Mishra, their conflict, and a significant event in Magic's timeline retold through a modern lens - it's an epic event. An all-out war that features giant mechanical artifacts, mechs if you will.

The fate of Dominaria and the Multiverse hangs in the balance, and with hundreds of cards set to debut with The Brothers' War, our friends at Wizards of the Coast have given us a sneak peek at one - Teething Wurmlet.

There’s nothing like a little Wurm action, some of Magic’s most powerful creatures that are essentially giant worms - but way more impressive. Even in Wurmlet form.

Teething Wurmlet

    Creature - Wurm

Teething Wurmlet has deathtouch as long as you control three or more artifacts.

Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield under your control, you gain 1 life. If this is the first time this ability has resolved this turn, put a +1/+1 counter on Teething Wurmlet.

Artist: Jesper Ejsing

Deathtouch is a very cool Magic keyword that means just about any creature can have a huge impact on the field, with Teething Wurmlet here acting as a healer of sorts on top of being able to bolster its own stats. The great thing about Deathtouch cards is that they’re perfect for setting up combos, which will come in handy as you relive one of the most epic wars in Magic history.

One of the cooler features of the new set is the addition of Transformers cards, yeah Autobots and Decepticons. These cards have a double-face mode to simulate Transformers robot and vehicle modes. With the multiverse, mechs, powerful artifacts, and large-scale war - the addition of Optimus Prime is a testament to Magic’s ability to present More Than Meets the Eye.

Magic: The Gathering The Brothers’ War is out on November 18, 2022. It’s also coming to MTG Arena. For more info on the new set – head to the Magic: The Gathering The Brothers’ War product page.
