As part of today's Resident Evil Showcase where we got an incredible update on Resident Evil 4 Remake and how it's coming along (spoiler: you can parry a chainsaw attack with a pistol and it's glorious), we also had a look at the upcoming expansion for Resident Evil Village, of which a new demo is now available to play.
The gameplay demo, which you can find now on Steam and the respective console marketplaces, is 60-minutes long and gives players the chance to check out both first and third-person modes. In addition to that information, in Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition we play the game as Ethan's daughter, Rose, in an all-new story while new characters come to The Mercenaries by way of Chris Redfield, Heisenberg and fan-favourite, Lady Dimitrescu. (The game mode has also been balanced and tweaked.)
Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition is available from October 28 on each respective platform that supports the base game.
In addition to everything above, Resident Evil Village for the Mac will arrive in the Mac App Store on Friday, October 28 with expansion content coming soon. This will be the first RE Engine game to run natively on macOS and Apple silicon, and no doubt pave the way for the Resident Evil 4 Remake. And with support for MetalFX Upscaling (which is Apple’s version of DLSS or FSR) high frame-rate RE action will be possible no matter if you’re playing on a MacBook Air or high-end Mac Studio rig.
