Alongside dropping word that Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a sequel that will be developed by a new CD Projekt Red studio in North America, the developer has confirmed that there are a lot more The Witcher games coming. From a new trilogy that will release within six years of the first game's debut, there's also a new multiplayer game, and a fully-fledged off-shoot coming from a third party.

CD Projekt Red broke up the plans using project names as per below.

Project Polaris

Polaris is a codename for the next installment in The Witcher series of games, which we recently announced was in pre-production. It is the beginning of a new saga: we aim to release two more Witcher games after Polaris, creating a new AAA RPG trilogy.

Project Canis Majoris

Canis Majoris is a full-fledged Witcher game, separate to the new Witcher saga starting with Polaris. It will be developed by an external studio headed by experienced developers who have worked on past Witcher games. In terms of technology - we intend to use Unreal Engine 5 and the toolset created for Polaris.

Project Sirius

Sirius is a codename for the game developed by Molasses Flood, set in The Witcher universe and created with support from CDPR. It will differ from our past productions, offering multiplayer gameplay on top of a single-player experience including a campaign with quests and a story. Compared to existing CD PROJEKT RED games, this one targets a much broader audience.

No doubt this is a lot of Witcher action, but CD Project Red has also confirmed it's working on a brand new IP called Project Hadar, "a codename for a third, entirely distinct IP, created from scratch within CDPR. The project is in the earliest stages of the creative process, which means we are not developing any game yet, but working exclusively on the foundation for this new setting."
