Alongside Phantom Liberty, which is the full story-driven expansion coming to Cyberpunk 2077 sometime next year, the studio has confirmed that it is working on a sequel. The game currently experiencing a surge in popularity thanks to the recent Edgerunners update and major patches and overhauls improving the experience, so this is great news.

The announcement came as part of a series of announcements focusing on the future of CD Projekt Red, which included confirmation of the next The Witcher trilogy, and more.

The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel has the working title Project Orion, and will "prove the full power and potential of the Cyberpunk universe". The word "prove" hints at a game that should hopefully launch in a far more promising state than the original. It'll be interesting to see if the sequel moves to the Unreal Engine, which CDPR has noted it will be using moving forward.

Additional documentation reveals that this will be developed by a new studio called CD PROJEKT RED North America.
A Cyberpunk release which will further develop the potential embodied by this universe.
