Diablo II: Resurrected has quickly become one of the best remasters ever made, presenting the same classic genre-defying gameplay from 20 years ago but with an impressive new visual makeover. Not only that but several quality of life improvements and subtle changes improve the core game. The recently announced endgame-changing Patch 2.5 has just been updated with another game-changing feature.

Yeah, as per the headline Blizzard is adding a way to remove Monster Immunity - which has always limited the number of viable builds you can take into the Hell difficulty and endgame.

"In Hell difficulty, many monsters receive resistance to specific damage types," writes Blizzard. "If their resistance increases above 100%, that monster is then immune to a specific damage type. Because there are only a handful of ways to reduce a monster’s immunity, only a minute portion of hero builds can successfully farm all zones in Diablo II: Resurrected."

With the addition of Terror Zones coming to Patch 2.5, which will make huge parts of the game viable in terms of XP and loot for endgame farming, Blizzard is now adding a new keyword Sunder and "six new Unique Grand Charms that allow the player to break specific monster immunity types while the charm is in their inventory". Monster resistances will drop to 95%, which means a lot more builds will become viable and there will be more ways to deal damage. Of course, in typical Diablo 2 fashion, the buff comes at a cost - but these new Sundered Charms sound like an amazing addition to the game.

The Black Cleft

Monster Magic Immunity if Sundered
Magic Resist –50%

The Bone Break

Monster Physical Immunity is Sundered
Physical Damage Received Increased by 25%

The Cold Rupture

Monster Cold Immunity is Sundered
Cold Resist –75%

The Crack of the Heavens

Monster Lightning Immunity is Sundered
Lightning Resist –75%

The Flame Rift

Monster Fire Immunity is Sundered
Fire Resist –75%

The Rotting Fissure

Monster Poison Immunity is Sundered
Poison Resist –75%

Patch 2.5 for Diablo II: Resurrected is still currently testing and only available via the PTR, but it's a major update to the endgame that adds a tonne of variety. The combination of being able to visit a huge list of areas in Terror Zone form with the ability to equip a charm to ensure you can actually do deal damage - is awesome to see.
