Recently we got the news that Valve's Steam Deck is coming to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan later this year. Today comes word that production is, to borrow a manufacturing term, ahead of schedule. Valve reported that "Steam Deck production has continued to outperform our estimates".

Specifically, those with a delivery window of Q4 (Oct-Dec) can now expect their Steam Decks to arrive in Q3. On the update, Valve writes, "We're glad to get these out to all of you faster, and hope you enjoy Steam Deck as much as we do."

So then, what has this got to do with the Steam Deck officially making its way to Australia? Well, Valve has stated in the past that other markets are on the cards - it's just a matter of supply being able to keep up with demand. And with that, this good news does bode well for a Steam Deck Aussie launch sometime in 2023. Hopefully, in the first half of the year.
