The Aussie soccer superstar has been revealed as one of two cover stars for FIFA 23's Ultimate Edition, alongside Paris St Germain's Kylian Mbappé. His third cover appearance. Having Sam Kerr on the cover globally is great to see, doubly so as she's the first woman to grace the official global cover.

Outside of the two stars the cover does mention that FIFA 23 will feature HyperMotion 2 technology, the AI-based animation and presentation tech that debuted last year.

And with Sam Kerr on the cover it could point towards a bigger integration of women's football this year. FIFA 23 will be a major release for EA in that it marks the final time the series will feature "FIFA" in the title, with next year bringing the first iteration of EA Sports FC.
