A new post over at Xbox Wire is looking for Xbox Insiders on Windows PC to test some classic games from id Software and Bethesda, covering Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders, HeXen: Beyond Heretic, HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, and Quake Champions as they are being ported over to the Microsoft Store environment. This follows on from similar tests for Wolfenstein 3D.

"With the original release of some of these games more than 20 years ago, Bethesda is looking for feedback as they bring them to the Microsoft Store on Windows," writes the post. Now, bringing these classics to a new storefront makes sense to broaden access, but with Bethesda being acquired by Microsoft odds are all of these titles will be added to PC Game Pass. And as PC Game Pass uses the Microsoft Store for games, this could be the reason why these classics are being brought across in the first place. Having games like Heretic and HeXen join the likes of the original Doom from 1993, alongside some classic Elder Scrolls from the DOS era, would be awesome to see in a PC classics section on the subscription service.

Of the list, Quake Champions is fairly recent, but that's something that also make a lot of sense as a PC Game Pass addition.
