The latest Overwatch 2 Beta is live, running from today until July 18 - and it brings new heroes, new maps, and more to players on PC (via Battle.net), PlayStation, and Xbox. And it arrives with full cross-play support.

As per the Patch Notes, Blizzard says, "Our primary goal for the Overwatch 2 Beta is to test our console and cross-play capabilities. Players from different platforms can play with and against each other. This gives the team the opportunity to stress-test our game and see what players from different platforms think about Overwatch 2."

In terms of new heroes it introduces the Junker Queen, which was announced recently, which is a new Aussie hero joining the line-up. It also sees the new Push mode join the line-up of Escort and Control. Plus, the new Ping system and whole bunch of changes to the hero roster including the reworks and redesigns of existing heroes like Orisa and Symmetra.

And of course it's the biggest player test so far for those looking to check out the new 5v5 setup. We'll be jumping in over the next week across both Xbox Series X and PC - so stay tuned for our full impressions.

Overwatch 2 is set to release this October, as a free-to-play title.
