Warcraft Arclight Rumble was announced earlier today, and it's a built from the ground-up action strategy game for mobile devices running Android and iOS. With tabletop influences and even some tower defense, it's a vibrant new adventure into the Warcraft universe. And it might be coming to PC.
Speaking with our local friends over at Press-Start Australia, game director Tom Chilton responded to the question about whether or not a PC version might be on the cards. With Diablo Immortal set to make its way to PC, there's precedent for Warcraft Arclight Rumble coming to Battle.net.
"We built it for the phone first and foremost and then kind of go from there," Tom Chilton said. "We have loosely talked a little bit about if we would do a PC version of it but we don’t know yet. We’ll have to wait and see. A lot of that will be driven by what players really want, we do think that some players will create emulators and things like that and that’s probably fine but do they want us to create an official version of it? Maybe, we’ll wait and see. If there’s enough demand for it then we would consider it."
So yeah, sounds like a very definite maybe. No doubt PC players will get a version up and running via emulator - and with simple touch controls this would work quite well with a mouse. After all, classic RTS Warcraft is one of the key inspirations here too.
