In a move surprising absolutely no one, Infinity Ward will be officially following up its successful reboot of the contemporary Call of Duty series in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with a direct sequel. Presumably it will reshape that whole affair in similar fashion to its last effort, will likely mean it will have very little to do with the 2009 original.

At this stage, everything in that opening post is about all we know, given the reveal was simply handled by a logo reveal on Elon Musk's Twitter:
IW's Modern Warfare reboot ushered in a new technical leap for the franchise with an impressive new game engine and audio to rival the series' award winning rival, Battlefield, and its excellent aural offerings. Whether other Activision studios such as Raven Software or Beenox or the like join IW on this venture is yet to be revealed, but for now we at least know what the logo looks like.

Stay tuned.
