As part of its latest financial report, CD Projekt Red has revealed that the first (and potentially only) major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is currently on track for a 2023 release. The report also detailed the company's current state as development shifts away from Night City towards more adventures in the land of The Witcher.

As per above development on the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion continues alongside the brand new Witcher game being created using Unreal Engine 5. Though it's strange that we'll have to wait until later in the year to year more about Cyberpunk's future - as the recent next-gen patch was something of a redemption point. The overview also lists continued support for Cyberpunk 2077 separately, which is good, meaning that the recent patch wasn't the last.

The financial report also confirmed that over 18 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077 have been sold to date. And over 40 million copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. That bit about the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion being the only one we might see comes down to the following slide from CDPR's financial report, which highlights how small the team working on the game currently is. There's not a whole lot of Team Yellow left.

Of course, it's hard to make any judgement call based on this - but it does sound like CD Projekt Red is basically going all in on The Witcher as the main focus going forward.
