Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is the sci-fi space marines follow-up to the excellent Warhammer: Vermintide II
from developer Fatshark. Described as an "intense 4-player co-op action game set in the hive city of Tertium" it will once again present a slice of Warhammer meets Left 4 Dead action.

And it finally has a release date, September 13, 2022 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.

Fatshark brings the four-player co-op experience to the 41st Millennium in 2022. Go deep into the hive city and face hordes of enemies you have only seen in your nightmares. Players will not be able to hide behind lethal ranged weapons; they'll need to combine both FPS and melee skills as they get up close and personal in visceral clashes between Imperium and Chaos factions. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will bring everything you have come to expect from the developers of the multimillion-selling award-winning Warhammer: Vermintide franchise.

As per above, even though going 40K means the introduction of guns there will still be a big focus on melee combat. The release date trailer above gives us a few glimpses of gameplay, though we'll probably have to wait a bit longer to get our first proper look.
