Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin is a new action-oriented game in the Final Fantasy series from Square Enix and Team Ninja, and it's out March 18 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. From today players can check out a free demo covering the first three stages, where progress will carry over to the full release.

The demo will also feature the game's multiplayer mode too. Described as "an authentic action game unlike anything else in the Final Fantasy series to date", the full game is said to offer up 40 hours of play, as it tells a story that goes all the way back to the very first game in the series. Square Enix notes that the series-staple job system seen in the RPG entries will carry over as 30 different play-styles.

Coming from Team Ninja the focus here is also on challenging and difficult combat, but as a story heavy Final Fantasy joint there will be multiple difficulty options - including a Story Mode for those wanting to simply hack and slash and enjoy the cinematics.
