Blizzard has posted a little roadmap outlining the next few months of all-things
Warcraft, which includes the first look at the next
World of Warcraft expansion and "the first game in the Warcraft Universe designed for mobile".
"On April 19, the World of Warcraft development team will reveal the next expansion,"
writes John Hight, General Manager Warcraft. "We’re excited to show you what we've been working on and where your adventures in Azeroth will go next."
Traditionally new expansions are revealed at BlizzCon, but with the event currently on hiatus it looks like we're getting a dedicated reveal. One that we expect will include a new cinematic teaser that will set the tone and reveal the setting. The one takeaway to note is the mention of "adventures in Azeroth", which will see a return to adventuring in the game's iconic setting after the Shadowlands expedition into the afterlife.
Elsewhere March 15 will signal the reveal of the first of three planned expansions for Hearthstone this year, and of course the mysterious mobile Warcraft game reveal in May.
Plus plenty of esports with WoW's Arena World Championship and Mythic Dungeon International and more Hearthstone Grandmasters.
