With the recent string of Crysis remasters hitting all platforms last year, today comes word from Crytek that a new game in the series is in development. Dubbed Crysis 4 it's apparently "in the early stages of development". Even so the studio plans to engage the community to ensure it "lives up to all of your expectations".
In the meantime here's the teaser trailer.
Crysis has a long history of pushing visual fidelity in the FPS space, and that looks to be the case here too. With Crytek CEO Avni Yerli noting that the Crysis 4 team is looking to create a "truly next-gen shooter". The studio is also currently hiring for a range of positions, including engineers, artists, and even a Design Director.
Fans of Crytek's Hunt: Showdown will also be pleased to learn that support will continue with new things coming "this year and beyond".
