Which is to say, fans who played the first game are in for a treat, with a number of returning characters from their first jaunt through Guerrilla Games' massive robot-filled open-world making appearances again in Forbidden West. To what narrative length is yet to remain seen, but it's good know your impact on the story the first time around, will be reverberated in the sequel.

Not that the first Horizon outing featured much in the way of storyline-defining decision making, but everyone loves a bit of narrative carryover.
In the next chapter of Aloy’s story she’ll face a storm of new threats: a world-ending blight, Regalla and her rebels, Sylens and his machinations, but as she ventures into the frontier of the Forbidden West, she won’t face these perils alone. Aloy will be joined by companions both fresh and familiar, including stalwarts like Varl and Erend, along with new allies like Zo, Alva and Kotallo.
Alongside the new story trailer embedded above, have a squiz at some new art shared over at the PlayStation Blog.

Horizon Forbidden West is out exclusively for PS5 this February 18.
