That is according to a Tweet posted on the game's official account noting that it will take 500 hours to complete Dying Light 2 Stay Human. A bit of a flex that also threw in that 500 hours is roughly the time it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid. But, as many out there that believe quality trumps quantity, the backlash was immediate.

500 hours is a lot of time, especially for those that plan to pick a game up and experience a single-player narrative. Responses varied in tone but by and large the feeling is that 500 hours is far too long for any game. So much so it forced developer Techland to back-peddle a bit and clarify that the 500 hours is in reference to seeing everything -- the multiple endings, completing every quest, and exploring every location in full.

And so the story changed to "less than 100 hours" to complete the story, side quests, and "do quite a lot of exploring". Which brings Dying Light 2 back into the realm of massive open world games. And not, you know, ridiculously daunting and potentially bloated.
