Rare's GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64 from 1997 is without a doubt a classic -- and a milestone release in the console FPS genre. From its objective-driven campaign through to the seminal four-player split-screen multiplayer. A remaster was finished and ready to ship on Xbox 360 many years ago, but was cancelled due to licensing issues. Now it seems that the long-lost remaster will finally get its Xbox debut.

The cancelled Xbox 360 remaster got leaked in full last year, showcasing what was going to be the ultimate in "long lost game" experiences. Stuff lost to time but playable as long as you had a capable PC and an emulator.

But now, with the full achievement list popping up via TrueAchievements, as reported by Wario64, a release looks to be coming very soon.

Though it's anyone's guess as to when exactly.

It's a full 1000 point deal, covering the campaign and multiplayer so odds are this will be a full standalone digital release.

I really hope the controls are updated. The Perfect Dark remaster really fell flat in that department :(
