With the likes of The Witcher slaying monsters on Netflix, The Last of Us getting the HBO treatment, and Halo set to become a big deal on Showtime, comes word of a somewhat unlikely adaptation. PC sci-fi classic System Shock is getting the live-action treatment, albeit on the upcoming streaming platform "for gamers" called Binge.

Not to be confused with the local service of the same name, Binge is set to launch in 2022 with "original series and shows inspired by popular video games" -- with one of those being System Shock. Interestingly the series will be created in partnership with Nightdive Studios, the devleopment studio behind the upcoming System Shock Remake.

“I’ve always believed that a live-action adaptation of System Shock would be the perfect medium to retell the harrowing story of Citadel station and its rogue AI that subjects the crew to unimaginable horror,” said Stephen Kick, CEO and Founder of Nightdive Studios. “We’re very excited to see the talented team at Binge bring System Shock to life in horrifyingly real and new ways."
