And it sounds like a mash-up of Xbox Achievements and PlayStation Trophies on the account of a "Platinum Achievement being awarded upon earning 1000 XP in a game". The whole achievement thing is something of an expectation nowadays, even on PC. With Steam Achievements being a thing for many a year it was only a matter of time before
Epic Games Store got in on the game.
Epic notes that tools for developers to add Epic Achievements have been out in the wild for about a year now, and beginning next week players can expect to find achievies in the likes of Rocket League, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Zombie Army 4, Alan Wake Remastered, and more.
As per the intro the setup is a combo of the Xbox and PlayStation systems with Bronze resulting in 5-45 XP pooint, Silver 50-95 XP points, and so forth for Gold and Platinum. Epic Achievements will be visible on game pages and you'll be able to track progress and note what you've unlocked.
