Quantic Dream, the studio behind narrative-heavy titles like
Detroit: Become Human and the water-heavy
Heavy Rain, has reportedly signed a deal with
Disney to develop a new
Star Wars game. The rumours began via French YouTuber
Gautoz, and then corroborated by noted rumourologist Tom Henderson (not a real word) and
Kotaku -- citing sources close to the project.
According to the reports the studio has been working on the Star Wars game for 18 months and will be a bit of a departure in that it's more of a traditional action game. As opposed to the interactive movie-style productions we've been seeing from Quantic Dream. With Quantic opening a new Montreal studio it's assumed that it will also play a part in developing this new game.
The studio is also fighting allegations about toxic working conditions, which came to light in 2018 -- so some of that will hover around the announcement whenever that happens.
