With an update from DICE
's Oskar Gabrielson confirming that the new release date for Battlefield 2042
is now November 19, 2022 -- the date pushed back a few weeks from the originally planned October 22 launch.
"Building the next generation of Battlefield during a global pandemic has created unforeseen challenges for our development teams," writes Oskar. "Given the scale and scope of the game, we has hoped our team would be back in our studios together as we move towards launch. With the ongoing conditions not allowing that to happen safely, and with all the hard work the teams are doing from home, we feel it is important to take the extra time to deliver on the vision of Battlefield 2042 for our player."
And with that the planned Open Beta looks to be changing with details on that coming later this month. Battlefield 2042 has been built with next-gen hardware in mind and with its dynamic maps, multiplayer suite, Specialists, and Battlefield Portal mode it's shaping up to be the biggest entry in the series to date.
